BACKGROUND
I had the privilege to design on Meta's Reality Labs' Wearables Core UX team. I collaborated with experience, hardware, AI, and other design teams, as well as cross-functional partners across several products to ensure consistency in interaction, systems and visual design.

My primary work was with the AI Glasses: Meta Ray-Ban Display (MRBD) and Ray-Ban Meta (displayless) glasses, but also worked on five other products in the ecosystem, including wrist devices, future products, and Meta's companion mobile app. I was able to bring enthusiasm to my problem solving, and curiosity to over 40 projects across the platforms, with emphasis on the hardware UX, accessibility, audio UX, and integrating AI to an anchoring experience on the Display glasses.

SELECTED DESIGN
PROBLEM
In the early stages of product development, there were too many competing ideas, designs, and specs.
One of the biggest hurdles in building a 0–1 product is navigating the unknown and constant ambiguity. The unique constraints of MRBD hardware and software added another layer of complexity.
Designing in ambiguity is one thing—collaborating cross-functionally within it is a whole different ballgame.

APPROACH
I researched across design, engineering, and PM teams to gather the most up-to-date specs, designs, principles, and guidelines.
Designing for a NUX (new user experience) product felt like designing and building a bike while riding it. With many loose ends, our Core UX team needed to provide timely, accurate guidance to experience, engineering, AX, and research partners who were all looking to us for clarity.
As a natural connector, I worked closely with leads across teams. While everyone shared the same goal, each group approached the path differently—insights that both informed design and were informed by it. I focused on ensuring users could easily find the right battery to design with, understand specs, and see both the differences and commonalities across products.

RESULTS

Designs are a go!
I designed a comprehensive, one-stop hub mapping MRBD glasses across software, design, technical, and hardware HIGs for designers, PMs, and engineers.To reduce confusion, I created a large, indexed Hardware UX Human Interface Guideline (HIG) that was thorough yet easy to navigate. The goal was a clear source of truth for Core UX and partner teams across design, PM, and engineering.I carefully structured technical and design specs to be digestible and reduce cognitive load. The result significantly cut the time teams spent digging through thousands of documents, figma files and resources. The design was well received and later turned into a reusable template for other teams tackling large-scale systems.
